What You Need To Know For New Year’s Six 2019
Games are locked in and loaded for this years exciting New Year’s Six pair-offs and we couldn’t be more thrilled. If you’re lucky enough to be there in person, we’re assuming you’re already informed and hopefully prepared. For the rest of us viewing from home, here is what you need to know so that with your bowl of chips in hand and a cold one in the other, you’ll be well-equipped for gameday.
New Year’s Six Bowl Games
Every year the top-seeded teams meet in the midst of all the post-season commotion to take part in what is the most important of the bowl matches, 2 of which determining who will meet only a couple of weeks after for the CFB championship – this year being held at New Orlean’s spectacular Superdome.
The 2019 New Year’s Six bowl games are:
- Rose Bowl (Oregon Vs. Wisconson)
- Allstate Sugar Bowl (Georgia Vs. Baylor)
- Capital One Orange Bowl (Florida Vs. Virginia)
- Goodyear Cotton Bowl (Memphis Vs. Penn State)
- Chik-Fil-A Peach Bowl ( LSU Vs. Oklahoma)
- PlayStation Fiesta Bowl (Ohio State Vs. Clemson)
New Year’s Six And 2019 CFB Playoff Match-Ups
Out of these six top-bowl games, 2 serve as the NCAA college football playoff games. Which 2 bowl games they are is rotated. The 2019 playoff games will be the Chik-Fil-A Peach Bowl and the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl.
This year number one Lousiana State University will meet the number 4 Oklahoma in Atlanta, Georgia at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the Chik-Fil-A Peach Bowl. The game will take place on December 28th at 4 PM Eastern and will be televised on ESPN. Remember to always tailgate big.
The other 2019 playoff game will be the Playstation Fiesta Bowl where number 2 Clemson will go head-on with number 3 Ohio State. This game will be televised right after the LSU-Oklahoma match on December 28th at 8 PM Eastern on ESPN.
December 28th might be the best holiday gift for any football fan. Just hours before the playoff matches, the Goodyear Cotton Bowl will be televised on ESPN where number 17 Memphis takes on number 10 Penn State. Travel with the pack.
The next New Year’s Six match will take place on December 30th. Number 9 Florida State will battle number 24 Virginia Tech at Capital One Orange Bowl in Miami Gardens, Florida – also on ESPN at 8 PM Eastern.
The games that take place on New Year’s day 2020 will be the Rose Bowl and Allstate Sugar Bowl
This year’s Rose Bowl match-up sees number 6 Oregon and number 8 Wisconson going toe-to-toe. The game will be televised at 5 PM Eastern on ESPN.
Following the Oregon-Wisconson match on ESPN is the Allstate Sugar Bowl where number 5 Georgia takes on number 7 Baylor at 8:45 PM Eastern Time.
The winner of this year’s Peach and Fiesta Bowls will meet back up in New Orleans on January 13th at the Superdome for the CFB Championship game.
